I will most likely use “texts about” this group, or maybe a combination of by and about, but not texts off topic. I will focus on statistics and comparsion between lefties and righties. I’m also hoping to use texts and perhaps some testimonies, and actual evidence that there’s no disadvantage to either one. I currently feel that the only move left to start with is research, and then outline that from there.

Blog Post 6
The “other” group I have chosen to use today is one that I fall into, by birth, and not by choice, not that if given I wouldn’t choose this group. I choose to write my paper over being a Lefty, a predominant left handed person. I feel as though this group may not be as big of minority as others, but I also know how many times it’s overlooked.

Social Construction
To me, social construction is an under-talked about subject. I think that is so because the term isn't necessarily positive. Roles have been placed in our system through nature. Lions leave the hunting to the females, while the males sleep and rest all day, ever so watchful of the pride’s territory. While us as humans have let this social construction into our lives. I believe that we are moving forward, as a species. Ever so slightly developing into these more complex constructions.
During the Ted Talk "Understanding the Complexities of Gender” Sam defines genders and their roles as we see them in modern day America, "Boys are aggressive, impetuous, good at math, love the color blue. They get dirty, rough house, play sports, not house. Trucks and soldiers and legos are their toys, but they break them all, ‘cuz boys will be boys.” meanwhile, "Girls are passive, docile, natural caretakers, love the color pink, born to be good bakers. They hate bugs, love hugs, and are better at vacuuming rugs.”

Based on “Social Construction” by Hanfler, we base our reality upon what society has constructed, and when “people agree on a definition of the situation they act in predictable ways.” But for those not born in to those definitions, life isn’t that straight forward. This social construction that has worked for our species for so long, has got to evolve, it has evolved between races, it has evolved between two genders, but was we know from Sam’s talk especially, there’s not longer the case of two definitions but that of many. These definitions need freedom to learn and grow, and deserve to be treated just like any one else. So social construction can be a bad thing and good thing. It’s simply the question of whether or not it can develop, along with us?

This assignment can be very confusing if the concept isn’t grasped fully at first. I was struggling trying to figure out my methods, and how to use them to my full advantage, Buck had a great grasp on this and I find the following method particularly interesting “I conducted periodic open-ended, reflective interviews with Ronnie every several weeks.” At first I thought it would be enough to only do one interview but I’m beginning to think it would be better to done as an establishing ground, and then conduct another halfway through the assignment. "Ronnie is of Irish and Chinese descent, plays the bass in the orchestra, is an avid blogger, has experience with web design and coding, and is an informat- ics minor.” Which part of the research gave her this information, is it data collection from the twitter feed, or is it safe to assume she got it from the interview?

Bio Blog
Heyo
My names Yoni (yo•knee). I was born in Israel, and moved to the states in 2004. I learned English in the 5th grade and by the 6th I had caught up in reading ability. Those two years were a tough transition but there came a turning point in my life that I went from being Yoni the immigrant to Yoni that guy with a weird name.
Life changing points seem to be my forte. In high school I went through more changes and growth than the average kid, and then when I thought it would be over in College, I went through 6 majors in one and a half years. All that seems to have been just my formula to life, because I'm now a junior advertising major, with a photography company that grows exceptionally everyday.
I have this dog, named Yip-Yip (like yep). Yip is a mini schnauzer about 5 years old now. He has firmly positioned himself as the highlight of my snapchat stories.
A List Of Things:
The color blue is sweet (blue is my fav color)
I like to explore the fresh outdoors, only when it's not winter.
I have a super rad family, ask me about them sometime
My dog Yip-Yip is a bo$$ (add me on Snapchat to learn more @yoniliveonce)
I have a severe caffeine addiction but college so it's fine.
I grew up absolutely hating English. Honestly just didn’t appreciate it at all, and if you asked any of my high school English teachers they would tell you that same thing. It wasn’t till I got to college, that I began to value not only reading, but more so writing.
I enjoy writing stories, and blog posts, I like to throw together Inspirational Tuesdays on Instagram, quotes paired with a photo, and then connect them with my life, to show my followers, family, and friends, that I’m not just writing these as a weekly tradition, but that I’m devoted to try and impact even just one person, weekly. Which I guess will tie in right about here into community. Yes I do write traditionally on occasion, but on the daily I write social media posts, which means I engage with my immediate community with most everything I produce. This can be a frightening experience. I see people bashing on posts all the time with their personal values and opinions and ignoring the fact that it’s not their post, and I’m just waiting for the day some heated argument over something I post occurs.
